Tom’s academic achievements since childhood have carried him to all points of the world, beginning with two years of boarding school in India. His affiliations with the CDC, Rockefeller University, Oxford, and Mass General Hospital have brought many grants and honors his way. A former full professor, practicing physician and ongoing medical researcher and inventor, Tom has U.S. and international patents for multiple rapid test devices and methods. He is the founder of Clarity Dx, and continues to expand his HIV technology to include additional rapid tests. He focuses his intense level of mental and physical energy on work, family and the tennis court – and he’s always ready to sail, hike or fly to a place he’s never been.

JOSEPH BOSWELL

Executive Vice President

Joe brings nearly 20 years of medical industry experience to Clarity Dx. Spending the majority of his career with Johnson & Johnson after beginning with Wyeth-Ayerst, Joe’s experience ranges from carrying a sales bag through increased levels of responsibility and success, including Leadership Development & Training, Field Sales Director, and Director of Strategic Alliances. He also ran the Business Development arm of Avalere Health, LLC, a premier policy-focused healthcare advisory firm based in Washington, DC. Joe has worked in both the pharmaceutical and medical device/diagnostics sectors, and a wide variety of therapeutic classes, including cardiovascular, diabetes, pain, bariatric, depression, and women’s healthcare. As acting COO, he ably manages the company through its formative stages, toward global distribution of it’s patented rapid medical test products.

SCOTT RIZZO

Vice President, Global Supply Chain Head

Scott is responsible for Clarity’s global manufacturing strategy and the subsequent distribution of First Step© HIV diagnostic kit. He served on the CEO’s senior leadership team during his employment with Barrier Therapeutics, where he skillfully laid ground for their first FDA product approval. Before that he was Director/North American Supply Chain Management/Global Sourcing for Hoffman La-Roche. The strategies he has implemented have generated millions of dollars in profits for his firms and his clients. He has developed excellent relationships with top executives at numerous contract-manufacturing companies, as well with US pharmaceutical distribution channels. He is positioned to lead CDx through its pre-manufacture stage and into a successful product-launching campaign.

CHARLES NOMIDES

Vice President, Regulatory Affairs & Product Development

Chuck is Clarity’s expert in regulatory affairs and head of product development. He is a senior life-sciences executive with over 28 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development. He has led R&D teams responsible for developing eight products currently on the market. He has vast experience working with the FDA and overseeing all the drug approval process. His 22 years with Johnson & Johnson, and a recent position with Barrier Therapeutics as Co-founder and Chief R&D Officer, bring a proven track record of strategic decision-making in guiding important medical products down the pipeline and into global use.

Outside of the office, Chuck’s personal alignment with Clarity’s mission is beautifully reflected in his active humanitarian efforts across the globe.

SUSANNA VANCE BUCHANAN

Communications

Susanna heads Communications for Clarity, which includes shareholder relations, media coordination and creative expansion projects. Her coincident passions for art and science have fostered more a career pentathlon than a sprint up the corporate ladder. After graduate work at UC Berkeley, she was science writer for The Nature Conservancy, a commercial photographer in St. Croix, a newspaperwoman in rural Tennessee. She now writes novels for Random House, clips ads for draft horses, and is devoted to Clarity’s mission and Team.
