First Step© HIV RAPID SELF-CHECKING TEST is designed to facilitate point-of-care testing as well as other potential rapid test markets. Slightly larger than a credit cared, the test is covered by issued and pending patents in the United States and internationally.

Clarity Dx President and Chief Scientific Officer, Thomas Buchanan, MD FACP, is an accomplished medical researcher and practicing physician. He invented and developed First Step© after years of research, in which he observed the need for an easy-to-use, inexpensive device that could be used to detect HIV by anyone, anywhere. Clarity plans to adapt both the oral swab and blood sample tests for use in the detection of Hep C, Herpes, and other diseases.

The 10-minute test has been designed to feature self-checking capabilities as well as extend the window in which results may be interpreted. This advanced design is expected to enhance user confidence and provide a significant sales advantage.
